Welcome to the homepage of the Dearborn Federation of Teachers, Local 681. We are affiliated with the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), AFT-Michigan and the AFL-CIO, and represent over 1400 teacher in the Dearborn Public Schools.

Our meetings are held on Tuesdays at the DFT Office.

A Message from our President:

Hello Union Siblings,

I am honored and proud to be serving as your Union President! DFT681 has strong support from our members and we continue to grow! Our Union represents members of the third largest district in Michigan and strive to be inclusive, transparent, and democratic.  DFT681 has been a Union that thinks outside the box with our Union owned health care and a strong Wellness committee. Our wellness committee has many activities every month to encourage our members to be “well” in all facets of their life; physical health, mental health, and financial health. We encourage our members to be active in the Union by reading the contract and understanding the portions that apply to them, attending the monthly general membership meetings (4th Tuesdays), or volunteering to be on the various committees.  We also welcome members interested in becoming Building Representatives, as they are the HEART and SOUL of our Union. Remember our Union is only as strong as our membership. Together we make DFT681 a strong, unified union!
